RE: [RC] Speed of Gaited Horses/Mules - Mike Sherrell

I have Peruvian Pasos. Typical speeds (per GPS) at gait are 7-7.5 mph, but
can be as slow as 6 mph or in extreme cases just over 10 mph.

Subject: [RC] Speed of Gaited Horses/Mules

Gaited horse/mule riders. I'm trying to get a feel for speed of gaits.
Using a GPS my gaited mule averages 5.3 mph in gait and will max at 5.8
mph. My Foxtrotter will average 6.8 mph and max at 8.5 in gait. Can you
give me an idea what kind of speeds your gaited horses do? Thanks. Bob
