Actually I think the culls from Arabian racing probably make good
candidates (if they are culled because they don't have good 6 furlong
speed) for endurance horses. Where there are a lot of race bred horses -
 look at the results of the endurance rides. The race bred culls seem to
 rise to the top.

Jedi could probably be considered a race bred cull and he did okay.
Fire and Gold was off the track and he did all right for himself on the
endurance circuit.

You have to look at the numbers.  (That's your bag, Truman!)  Yes, some do
rise to the top--the ones who still possess the other necessary traits. 
And as I already mentioned, they do tend to be better conformed than the
show horses (with some exceptions) which also helps.  But if you look at
the HUGE number of race culls that come and go, not a lot of them are very
successful, percentage-wise.
