I don't have to do a Google search on this. That's very interesting since the French have been know for a lot of things but their Air Force was not one. General Billy Mitchell would be interested to know that the Army was not interested in air power since he headed up the Army Air Corps (what later became the US Air Force) in the first world war.

I think the US got the idea of flying just fine since it's the greatest air power in the world.
