[RC] re: bitting, shallow mouth - Deblyons54

I can ride her with a halter in an enclosed area but she is rather opinionated on the trail and I need a bit in her mouth. Tried a bosal and it was just a little better than a halter, tried a mechanical hackemore and she doesn't do well in it either. Because of her shallow mouth she gets any bit with shanks under her tongue, unless it has lots of tongue relief. Thanks for any suggestions. Her teeth are OK.

Chris, did you consider a sidepull?  If not, why not?

Dyane and Fox (currently very, very happy in a sidepull, responds as if it
were a spade bit in a rider with excellent hands)
