From a buyer's point of view (and I am not a buyer and haven't been for years), I'd rather buy a horse bred for the purpose it was going to be used for, rather than a reject from some other breeding program/purpose.


And this brings up another education opportunity: As someone mentioned I think yesterday - those ads for "endurance prospects" that are nothing but horses that can't be used for something else - I'd like to someday see buyers who are so knowledgeable that they would pass by anything but the real thing: An endurance prospect bred for the job, from parents who succeeded at the job. That's why an endurance breeders incentive program would be something really sweet (hint for AHA).
