Re: [RC] LMMR part two - Karen Sullivan

Hi Maggie, your post below was interesting as I compared it to some California rides and came up with the following questions ( this may be regional differences stuff) below your post.

*First part about steady rain clipped....

There was water everywhere!!!

There was some tough going where the trail is usually firm, as it had been churned up into a muddy mess by the time we passed through.

**Maggie, curious if this was held in park or private land, etc.  In Calif., rides seem to be cancelled often at the hint of incoming rain for the weekend  (Lake Sonoma one year cancelled by Army Corp of Engineers due to chance of rain that weekend....and it never did rain), and Shine and Shine Only at Quicksilver is also carefully watched due to rain and trail conditions....

So...I can't imagine a whole endurance ride of horses going along on a muddy trail....in parts of Calif this would ruin the trail for years.....

Again, not being critical here, but curious as to what protocol is in parts of the country that get rain on a more regular basis....

Karen
