Re: [RC] [RC] Horizontal Hoof Crack - Kari HanesMaggie,Thank you so much for the offer, the new farrier we found is pretty good, but he's just not very experienced. One of our biggest battles over the years has been finding a farrier in the area that isn't "put off" by arabians. I would really appreciate Nelson taking a look at her. Should I wait until he sees her hoof before using something like Tuff Stuff? Also, where do you buy this, is it at Tractor Supply or do I need to order it online? Becke mentioned road riding and we do have to travel a couple miles of road before we get to the trails. It's been a constant battle to keep the mare off the pavement, I rein her off the road, release the pressure and she veers right back over to the pavement, this happens non stop, every ride. Thanks again, your advice is always appreciated. Kari Montalee Arabians Maggie Mieske wrote: Tuff Stuff is always a good idea. We use it when we shoe...helps fill in around the nails and looks nice, too...and when we have been working in sand or really dry trail. It's a good product that we recommend. The only thing to be aware of when it grows out is that if it's fairly long and you aren't shoeing, it might crack off before you trim it off. But it's not a big deal. You won't find the mysteries of the universe in there, I am afraid. :)Now, Howard, I thought you were one of those barefoot bums.....how come you're now a "horse shoer in training"? :) (all barefoot proponents please note the smiley face before getting all offended!!!).
