[RC] snakes - Alice Yovich

the Six O Ranch in Cleburne, Tx hosted a NATRC ride this w/e and they have an AERC ride next w/e. You can also go and ride there for fun. (don't know if Kim, the owner is on this list or not, but it's an awesome place to ride) They always warn us about the snakes. So far, I haven't seen any, but I know they're there. I believe that they said their son was bit by a copperhead one summer just stepping off the back porch.  I know that when I rode there with a small group last april one group of friends said that they heard a rattling bush and just kept right on moving. One of the hills is called "rattlesnake". It's not called that for nothing.  Fortunately when I ride there I typically ride at the back of the pack or I'm riding safety, which is really in the back of the pack. I figure all the snakes have gone by then.

But a
copperhead I'd take out in a heartbeat - especially if he was where he
should not be.
