Re: [RC] [RC] 1000 mile horses a dime a dozen? - Flora Hillman

Funny --  I was thinking of just this subject today while out foxhunting.  My goal this year is to surpass 1,000 miles, and I was wondering if the AERC ever thought of forming a 1,000 mile club for horse/rider teams.  Sounded like rather a nice idea -- after all, the AERC recognizes the 3,000+ mileage horses in the yearbook. :-)

Just for fun I chose (at random) a page (pg 71, Mountain Region) from the 2002 yearbook and noticed of the 306 listed on that page there were 47 with 1,000 miles or more.  That may be a very tiny statistic, but it doesn't exactly seem like "a dime a dozen" to me.
