[RC] Haybelly Question. - Laurie Durgin

"No, she isn't pregnant". Is how I have answered this question more than once. Now Honey is just getting ridden recently, and I wondered if it could be a "lack of muscle tone thing".
But I wonder if it could be some sort of digestion thing.Rascal occaisonally looks 'pregnant too'
Sometimes there is as much as a 6' difference in the length of their sheet/blanket straps settings or a couple inches in the girth settings in the same week.
Even since I have dropped some weight off her by cutting all grain and just a little beet pulp(wet handful). She still has that dang haybelly.
They get wormed every 8 weeks and have freechoice round bale 24/7. It is usually bermuda or bermuda/fescue. Not real green, he cuts it and lets it lie a couple days, fluffs it and makes sure it is dry.It has a little green, slightly bleached.(alternative seems to be wet, green, weedy, moldy hay).
Makes me wonder if they are just pigs and overeat at certain times or if there is some kind of bloating going on? Laurie/Rascal/Honey/Scout
