You said it wonderfully.  I too sit back and laugh at some of the
"Oldtimers"....  I agree with the trails.  The trails are way to easy.  Over
the years the trails have become less of a test of endurance between horse
and rider.  Now it is a test of speed between the team (horse and rider) and
the other teams.   Make the trails hard and interesting.  I won't attend a
ride that is FAST....  To me that means there is no challenge to the trails.
If I wanted to run fast I would run around the race track.  Seems to me the
same thing.  This is my opinion.
TOUGH....

I to have met 100 mile riders.  They are kind, gracious and are willing to
discuss with you the aspects of 100 mile rides.  There is more to an
endurance rider than the miles, it is also the attitude towards others in
the sport.
