[RC] Horse deaths - Chrystal

Hi, I am a 'lurker" from Ontario :-) quite enjoy all the tips etc.... found
on this email list. However I do have a question- I think it was Truman who
mentioned awhile ago that there were 7 horse deaths last year and this year
may exceed that, is this a number that represents JUST the U.S. or was that
total horse deaths worldwide in this sport? Anyway, that has been bugging
me and I thought I would ask, also does anyone have any idea of the numbers
of riders/horses involved in endurance in the States???
I am a "newbie" to this sport but one thing I have found and that attracts
me to it is that the overall care and attention given to these horses tends
to be amazing- the knowledge that most riders have of general
fitness/nutrition/ overall health seems to outstrip many other horse sports
I have experienced.
Chrystal :-) :-)
