Part of that information is published in the back of the
AERC year book, which members receive at the end of each
season - it's given out at the Convention in March, and
mailed to members who weren't able to attend.

The Year Book contains (amongst other things):

* results for every ride held in the US that season (Dec 1-Nov 30)
* list of lifetime horse miles
* list of lifetime rider miles
* list of riders who have over 5000 miles (and what their lifetime miles are)
* list of horses who have over 3000 miles
* results of all awards (and an explanation of what they are)
and best of all, my favorite part,
* photos and write-ups of all the 3000+ mile horses :)

It also contains a breakdown of the stats of how many
rides/riders/miles were ridden that year - both nationally,
and broken down by region.

Pulling the stats from the last line, for the national
grand totals:

# of rides: 770
Rider miles: 781,695
Starters: 20,912
Finishers: 17,674
Juniors: 1,315
Seniors: 19,587
Pulls-lame: 1,617
Pulls-metab: 529
Pulls-other: 1,087

Unfortunately, that doesn't show exactly how many *individual*
horses/riders are involved - Mike Maul may be able to crunch
that number (I don't know how easy that is to extract from
the database).
