weight in it since my left foot is the only one that ever has pain. 

One thing you can try is going to a gym where they have weight machines.
Nearly all of the leg machines can be done one leg at a time. You may find
that one leg is weaker than the other. I tried this the other day, and it
seems like the right leg isn't as strong. Close, but not the same.

I'm sure other things can cause this problem, but maybe this idea might
help.
