Herbal remidies are not tested and developed by the scientific method.  The active ingreedients are often unknown.  The potency varies from plant to plant.  Many of them are a waste of money because they don't do what they are supposed to.  If you beleive that some chemical in them is affecting your horse's performance, you are kidding yourself if you think that the herb is not a "drug" or a "performance enhancer".  Even if neither you or anyone else knows what is in the herb, if it is a "performance enhancer" it is banned.
 
Natural herbal remidies are not innocous.  Some hurt both people and horses.  Some help both people and horses.  If they effrect horses they are banned. 
 
What could be simpler?
