Fwd: Re: [RC] claming agents that won't test postive, know any? - Stacy Jones

This is to be directed to Ed Hauser of Sisu West Ranch:
Licorice is barely known as a calming agent, but it is. My friend cannot eat it because of her pace maker. You don't see any warnings of any kind on the package!!!! So if I feed my horse licorice, and yes she does like it, would you consider that enhancing? If so, then I, myself, "enhance" my performance as well as my children's, as do many other people without even knowing or trying!! I have heard enough of your input! Thank you very much for no help at all!!!
Stacy AKA: Woman with mare who would like to have a fun/safe first endurance ride and who is concerned for the safety of the people around her!!!!

The AERC drug rule has no loop hole for "herbal remidies".  Remember that the leaves of the Coca plant are "herbs" and as a source of cocane are illegal in this country.  Nicotine comes from Tobacco.  It is a drug and a poison.  I could go on and on.  The status of a substance as a performance enhancer has nothing to do with whether it comes from a plant or a factory.  If it enhances performance it is a drug.

Lets not get into the silly argument that grain has nutrients and nutrients enhance performance.  We all know what nutrients are and that they are not forbidden for obvious reasons.
