[RC] When to electrolyte - Benedikte Whitman

Hi,

I have been looking through the archives and did not see my exact question
addressed (if it is I missed it - sorry).

I wanted to find out how riders judge when to electrolyte their horses on
the trail and when travelling. I don't want to do it at the wrong time
and cause further problems by adding salt to their systems, but do need to
give some on trail as one of my horses sweats a lot.

Also, when trailering, do you give the night before you go, hours before
you leave, as you load, and why?
Thanks in advance,
Benedikte
