Re: [RC] Kicking problem - Sisu West Ranch

Is the problem truely with the mare??  When the dominant horse is starting to become upset, the other horse is supposed to move off.  If this does not happen either because of very close quarters, or a non dominant horse that doesn't know what he is supposed to do, the dominant horse is going to get enraged and really lay into the other.

I had a boarder 25 years ago that had been alone all of her life.  She did not understand horse language.  Almost everyday she would approach where my gelding (the most benevolent herd boss around) was.  He would warn her off.  She would unconcernedly continue towards the hay or whatever.  Eventually he would kick her.  She would look at him with a "what was that for?".  A while later this would go on again.  She never did learn.  I was real glad when she was sold.
