RE: Sheath Swelling:
I am VERY interested in anyone's solution
to this problem. I have one horse that has
exactly the same problem as soon as he
starts hanging around the barn and not
excersing himself (when it gets really
cold in winter). He's in great shape and this doesn't happen when
he's being ridden, or if the weather permits some sort
of excersice.
My vet agrees it's some sort of circulatory problem... as yet unidentified.
It's not a bean. And I've actually had the smegma tested. He's also been blood tested. Currently I've been corresponding
with a homeopathic vet, but haven't really
seen any results from that. This is the time of year
he swells, and it's started. I'm about to try Coenzyme Q10 (made by Nutramax) cause I know that stuff inproves circulation
in humans.
If anyone has any sucess with reducing
sheath swelling.. please keep my Email address and let me know.
I have one question for all of you owners with
this problem:
Do your horses have any problems with
spring shots? Like swollen necks or butts, or "any"
other problems?
The horse that has the Sheath swelling problem is also considered "reactive"
meaning his immune system reacts adversely
to just about ANY vaccination.
I hope to hear from some of you.
Thanks.
