[RC] Trailer towing - peanut2@xxxxxxx

Ok, where are these cheap, but (I'm assuming) reliable vehicles that are
being talked about?

I looked into the Brenderup option and really though hard about it. Both my
towing truck (bought 3 yrs. old with 87,000 miles) and small truck (bought
4 yrs old with nearly 100,000 miles) I drive back and forth to work were
bought used. And the total cost for the two vehicles was $30,000. And I
find maintaining two vehicles much more costly. Double registrations,
inspections, insurance, routine service, tires etc. Not to mention , since
they are both used with miles, the break downs that are bound to occur
occasionally from just plain warn out parts (little truck now has 235,000
miles on it and going strong!). And I spent $16,000 on a trailer anyway.
(That I did buy new). The reason I didn't go with the Brenderup is because
I am spoiled and lazy and wanted a gooseneck with the dressing room to use
as living quarters so I would spend a lot less time "setting up" camp.

Used truck are sure not cheap here. Not decent reliable ones. Now I have
bought cheap truck here. My first two towing truck were cheap. And I got
what I paid for, each time I hauled I just prayed I got there and home
safely. At the time I looked at the Brenderup, I already had two vehicles
that would tow one. My small pickup and my husbands Taurus Wagon. I would
have saved me a LOT of money to just buy the Brenderup rather then the
bigger trailer and a separate tow vehicle.
