We have had a similar issue.  On most goose neck hitches there are two bolts that lock the inner tube to the frame tube.  The problem is that once you get the height you want between the bed and the trailer the weight on the lead axle of the trailer is less than the rear.  We ended up putting a 4 inch lift on the trailer so that it would ride level and had the bonus of not dragging the tanks on the ground.  Putting the lift in was really easy.  The axles were bolted onto the frame of the trailer.  All we had to do was unbolt the axles, raise the trailer, slip in the 4 inch steel and weld it in place then bold the axles back on.

Good luck.

I posted this morning about our trailer issues. The places we go with our trailers, you just cannot cut corners in some areas. Here is the trouble - our 2009 F350 has higher rails(sides) than the 2003 that got totaled. So - that means that we cannot haul our trailer with our truck. Nice. Here are some measurements: The bed is 22" deep, from the ground to the TOP of the rials 58" and when we managed to get the trailer ON the ball, we had about 2" clearance between the struts of our 2003 Trails West and the rails of the truck. One half hearted ditch would trash the truck. I LOVE our TW and had NO expectation of having to sell it, but the bigger problem is that I don't even know what to LOOK for. I just know SOMEONE has got to have had to deal with this before and no one else has the perspective of endurance riders, who tend to go where no man has gone before. I would love to have advice, input, etc on this, since I am aware that the standard 8" of clearance between underside of nose and truck rails is JUST getting by - 10" would be better. We had a full 12" on our old rig but that is not to be now and I do not know what to do. K - shoot!

Ooops!  My email got out of order but it was still a good post.

You may have to take it to a trailer place as someone suggested to
get lift kits on the axles.  You can easily raise the nose to get
the relief you seek but it will lower the rear and cause you grief
when you go up a quick grade.
