Subject: [RC] Awards

I have a couple of questions for all of you about awards. Answer any or all, as you please - but please do answer!

1. Do awards make a difference as to whether you'd go to a ride or not? " No"

If so, what's the minimum type of award that makes the difference?

2. Rides used to give out buckles for awards, but don't any more. Is it because they're too expensive and add a cost to the ride that riders won't bear? Or is it because riders don't care about buckles?
" Buckles can be done at resonable costs, less then $10, but many don't wear them. I think many are treasured though. I know mine are.

3. What about T-shirts? Jackets?
"Newer riders seem to really like T shirts, us old folks have drawers full (and never throw them away till they are really trashed) Jackets as well, I love 'em all but hard to wear all. Jackets can be pricey for RMs

4. What's the best completion or other award you've ever gotten? And would you want to always be able to get an award like that?
" A full length Aussie style rain slicker for a 100 completion. Probably not, too costly?? But nice.">

5. What's the lousiest completion award you've ever gotten? And if you feel it was lousy, why?
" A "cute" bar of soap. The presentation by RM was just "All you finishers just come up and pick up your completion award from the box." Pretty rude finish for what had been a decent ride..

6. What's your recommendation for a perfect completion award?

" I like novelty and useful both. Whatever the RM can think of they can fit in the budget or key to something unique to that ride.. Have got stuff all the way from rocks to horse blankets, like it all."

Thanks! _____________________________________
