Re: [RC] Regarding the Mongol Derby - Kat/Terry/FEI Position - Diane Trefethen

Beverley,

Thank you for codifying that "feeling" I get when I read rants against or for something. They seem dishonest and now I know why. The clothing of objectivity with a Dark Shadow projection may be the mind's way of expressing, but not TOO clearly, one's own subjectively distasteful characteristics but to the observer it seems more like hypocrisy, if not outright deceit. What is especially frustrating is that the speaker often seems to have no clue so that when you point out that the degree of emotion expressed is inappropriate to a logical argument, the reaction is not an acknowledgment of that fact nor an attempt at introspection but rather a justification along the lines of, "Well, I have a right to be upset because what they are doing is so wrong".
