Re: [RC] Boz Saddles - Jackie Floyd

I've been watching the comments with interest. Yes, one conversation with the man should just about cure everybody. But of all the saddles I've ridden the Boz is THE most comfortable saddle I've ever had. But then, I'm 5'8" and have long legs. the wide twist is perfect for me. Whether or not it was the eventual cause of the pinched nerve my horse has, I'll never know as we don't know where it is, only suspect it. Most think it's in his neck. So I kind of ruled the saddle out. I bought a Boz because I didn't know whether I'd be keeping the horse I had at the time, and I was right. I've used it on all my horses and nobody has complained yet.

I now have one Boz (had two, but didn't like the performance seat) and one Bob Marshall sports saddle with the trail package stirrup leathers. Between the two, I still like the Boz better, although I seem to stick a little tighter to the horse and be more one with the horse, with the treeless saddle.

Most uncomfortable saddle I ever rode in.  IN addition, I couldn?t get support to fit it to my horse.  The owner of the company kept insisting that I didn?t know how to ride, rather than helping me fit it to my horse.

Ridecampers:

If anyone out there owns or has ridden in a Boz saddle I would love to get some feedback (both good and bad) on them.  Specifically, how flexible is the tree?  Does it REALLY fit every horse?  And what about those forward hung stirrups?  Do they put the rider in the chair position?  Can you still post comfortably?

Also, if anyone has any experience with the Boz DIY kit, I'd like feedback on that as well.  Like, how easy is it really?

thanks,

mel
