[RC] stallions - Sheila_Larsen

Ok I am not a stallion owner but have been around stallions used for
breeding and showing. It doesn't sound like he is really being a bad boy
just needs to know his boundaries. If you are breeding/teasing I would
always use the same halter or bridle just for that activity so he never
associates riding equipment or other equipment with that activity. You
may already be doing that and saying "well yeah" but, if not, it should
help. If you are pasture breeding him it is a little more difficult, but
it sounds like you are on the right track. If he drops and is behaving
well, I would just try and do something more active with him and if he
pulls his penis up and stands quietly for a few seconds give him a treat.
If you decide to go the thumping route that Leah recommended I would still
treat if he pulls it up and is quiet. Ok I do clicker training so I do
treats but usually with a click.
