I agree, Beet Pulp is a good option but if it contains molasses you will want to soak and drain it before feeding to reduce the sugars.

I've been reading about low carb diets for horses - understand you can't
really feed a low carb diet - but can try to use feeds lower in sugar
and higher in fat. Any feeds you suggest? any nationally available type
feeds? or local based ones in North Texas? looking to increase
fat/weight on horse who is slightly hard keeper, but keep down
susceptibility toward tying up based on diet. Have cut back any
competitions for several months and will slowly build up LSD base again
doing short pleasure trail rides...
