[RC] Concussion bruising on 50 mile+ barefoot horses - Lauren & Allan Horn

I had that happen (if I understand you correctly) just once, but it was on a shod horse. What I learned from that was that the hoof was out of balance and the toe was too long for that foot. It was a clubby sort of hoof where the heel grows faster then the toe. The bruising was just at the cornet band and there ended up being a superficial crack too. It was only about 2 inches long and you can tell the hoof was "jamming" at that section. It did grow out.
