Re: [RC] FEI and AERC - Kim

A shorter recovery time at the finish has been discussed by AERC and the endurance lists like ridecamp several times.  Look in the archives for past discussions.  There are several valid reasons for not shortening the recovery times at AERC rides.

Just as FEI has valid reasons for many of their rules/protocol, it does not mean they will prove beneficial if mandated for AERC rides.  In as many ways FEI and AERC are similar they really are different in as many ways.

The shorter times required by FEI for the horses to meet critera both during the ride and at the finish seem like a great idea.  Wonder what AERCs reasoning is not to do the same?  Seems like it is one more excellent way to help ensure the horses well being.
