Just leave it on there...if someone asks what it's from, just tell them you tried to sell your horse at an auction, and no one would bid on him.  ;)    My horse Bear still has a few tiny bits of green left from an October ride.  Sundance has a green number from a Feb.9 ride; that one is crossed out, and he has a pink number above it from a Feb. 16 ride; he's going to get *another* number March 8.  After that, I'm out of butt!
 
Consider it a conversation starter, badge of honor, etc.  :)
