Re: [RC] Silver legacy the support of our convention - Lynne Glazer

I am a little stunned and disappointed to hear that despite this huge new event center, that the trade show is NOT next to the meeting rooms! ?Despite there being scads of them snuggled around the hall, as I look at the floor map on the 'net. ?Everyone still has to walk to and from the Silver Legacy across the street. ?

The best part of being at the Nugget was being proximate to the meeting rooms.?

Convention committee, please consider how little time there is between sessions and that your convention vendors are also largely riders who would like to interact with attendees besides just selling them stuff. ? ?Are we that small time that we can't eat in the "big house"? ?

There have been several occasions where the AERC deal has not been as good as other options.? Of course, you are taking a chance that there will be no rooms.? I find hotels are like airlines...it's what the price will bear and how anxious the hotel is to book all rooms.? It's also a little like buying a car ....

But to me, it does not make sense that their "deal" to AERC is not as good as the basic deal someone can get by on line booking. I'd think that who ever the AERC contact is with the hotel, should at least ask them about it.
