[RC] OT - Australian Shepherds - Peggy B-Smith

We had two Aussies that were totally different.  Rugby, that we got as a puppy in 78, you could teach anything in a matter of minutes. He would go down our long driveway and get the paper.  We could just tell him, "get the paper" and off he'd go. He did extremely well in obedience training and lived to be almost 15.

Ruffian, on the other hand, was a neat little dog, but was unteachable. She was faithful and a great companion, but would never be an obedience champ - to say the least! We loved her for her unique personality and she lived to be 15+ years.
Rugby you couldn't keep out of water - he loved to swim. Ruffian, you couldn't get her near water! Funny, Rugby was a blue merle and Ruffian was a tri. We got another tri later from a rescue and he didn't like water either.
