[RC] AERC and co-sanctioned FEI rides - Michael Maul

In response to:Do any funds from Aerc go to FEI? In what manner does AERC support FEI? So if a ride is FEI sanctioned and a rider enters and completes as an FEI participant, they get no AERC points ?"

No funds that I know of go from AERC to FEI. Funds go from the ride manager to FEI for rides co-sanctioned but those are separate funds. There is a separate entry form and ride entry fee for the FEI rides. At the 2008 Git r Done AERC ride with a co-sanctioned FEI ride - the entry for the 100 mile AERC ride is $160. If you want to enter the FEI ride as well - there is an additional $190 fee. If you entered both rides - the total fee would be $350 for the 100 mile ride.

In every co-sanctioned AERC and FEI ride that I know of, riders who wanted to enter the FEI ride had to enter the AERC ride first.

This means that an AERC rider will get their points for participating in the AERC ride. There are no points or anything available to the rider for the FEI participation from AERC.
