[RC] feeding in troughs - Lynn White

With the discussion about feeding in old water thoughs it bought to mind what
happened to my neighbor. He fed his horses in an old water trough. One of his
horses managed to get both his legs in the trough, slipped and asphyxiated
himself. It was terrible, but the horse actually died pretty quick. I'd never
put feed in anything a horse could get himself into. You just never know what
can happen, and horses seem to find ways to hurt themselves. The horse that
died was a very nice level-headed rocky mountain horse in his prime and was
part of a wagon team. So sad, and so preventable.
