 I think this is what you are looking for, interestingly enough:    

There were other rides from 1920-22 in England  and in America that were
basically comprised of 60 miles per day/300 miles total. The horse named Crabbet
won a 310 mile race carrying 245 lbs!  More hope for us lard-assed heavyweights!
