[RC] tank heater questions - Tx Trigger

Because I have Arabs, who will get in to everything, I went with the drain plug type deicer. Easy to install in my Rubbermaid tub. I actually set up the winter trough when we start getting the freezing weather, and then just leave the regular trough alone. It is next to the barn, and I drilled a hole in the barn wall, to run the cord through, so the horses could not get into the cord either. The floating deicers, and those that submerse, still have cords the horses can grab ahold of and play with them. For my $100 investment INCLUDING a new Rubbermaid trough, it has worked well. At the end of the season, I store the whole trough, not taking out the drain hole deicer, until the following winter.

Many systems that are terrific, and lots more money, but I have been happy with this. We got ours at Tractor Supply
