[RC] Where do you buy your Hay From? - Tx Trigger

When in So. Cal, and only 2-3 to feed, we got the hay from the local feed
store. They delivered and stacked for no extra charge. (bet they charge
these days) We usually only bought about 20 bales at a time, and the hay
changed often with each shipment. Never had any problems switching from one
load to the next. (but not changing type...usually fed a grass of some type,
or Barley hay)

Now in TX, we have 25 acres of Coastal Bermuda. We bale in rounds. In the
past I sold the rounds, then bought small squares. But this year we are
feeding what we grew, and just pitchfork off the round bale, instead of
putting the whole thing out. When we buy small squares, we have done so out
of the field, picked up and hauled ourselves, and bought from feed stores.

It is kind of a regional thing. Those in So. Cal normally can't drive to the
grower and buy direct. Here in No. TX, we have a large number of growers to
go to.
