Re: Re: [RC] Cool Medic vests -- any problems?? - Lori Bertolucci

I'd say that says something very nice about Susan, and something very bad about the company that makes the vest...

Mine went dead flat too and quit working after only three usages.   I had only had rinsed it and laid flat to dry.  Susan Favro helped me get a replacement because the company would  not answer my emails.  Thank you Susan.

I've used mine about 6-8 times and it still performs as it did the first time.  I have never laundered it and I always lay it out flat to dry after wearing.  The first couple of times wearing it I noticed lots of "beads" bleeding out of the stitching.   Mine probably doesn't plump up as much now as it did when new but it's still satisfactory.

I have had the exact same issues with mine.  It's been a huge disappointment.  The "beads" seem to have totally disappeared from my vest and it doesn't hold the water anymore.  I bought mine from Healthy as a Horse as well and spoke with Susan about it at Tevis in 2007.  One thing that is not mentioned anywhere on the product literature that I received was not to wash it in a top-loading washer.

My husband and I bought these vests last year, but mine doesn't "plump up" when it's soaked in water.  The cells of the quilting just stay flat.  But looking at his, most of the cells really plump up with the water, but a lot of the cells on his vest are flat, too.  I emailed Cool Medic about the vests, but no reply.  Has anyone else had any issues with these vests?  Susan Favro, from Healthy as a Horse, offered to talk to the manufacturer for me about the vests.(Thanks so much, Susan!!)  I've only used my vest 3 or 4 times, and am pretty disappointed with it.  But I've heard other people rave about them!  Would like to hear if anyone else has purchased a defective vest.
