[RC] Upward Pateller Fixation - mrsd

Had a very wonderful mare who was playing in the round ring (1967). She gave a
mighty leap and came down & could hardly move.( right hind) Our wonderful vet
cme by & said
that we had two choices. First force her to back up fast when it happens,
second would be surgery, which could lead to problems later on. We used the
fast backing. She went on to finish the Tevis 3 times. (74, 75, & 78 )
Several 50's
and the Virginia City 100 in 74. She had the most wonderful trot and could fly
down the canyons at Tevis. She would over -stride at the extended trot by
nearly one/half of her stride. She did 100 mile rides with our entire family
of four. It would hang up once in a while but she seemed to work out of it .

Our Vet was Jerome Sexton DVM (Tevis 1974)
