It really isn't much different from taking your horse to the vet clinic for 
euthanasia--except that the carcass does not go to waste.

When our 33 year old pony, the best pony ever, finally had to be put down, 
we took her body to a place called Wildlife Images.  They  re-hab raptors, 
bear, cougars, etc.  We figured "useful in life/  useful in death".  It's 
not that we weren't sentimental about Gypsy, we were, but she got to be a 
good pony one last time.
