[RC] Fly Repellants - Kitley, Carrie E Civ USAF AFSPC 30 MDSS/SGSLF

I know this is a small thing and probably been brought up 1000 times before I
joined, but (to get off the BLM/wild horses, non-endurance subject, lol) I'm
wondering what people find is the best product for repelling flies. And has
anyone ever used those equine bio-spot products with any success? My Senior
Citizen gets scabby legs from fly bites and I'd like to fine something that
really works for longer than 10 mins. :)
Also, has anyone heard what the smoke/particulate content is in the Santa Cruz
area. Fireworks ride is coming up Aug. 2nd. :) A little irony in the ride
name there. lol

Subject: [RC] re: question on using DMSO sweat wrap

I was very interested in the thread on what folks use post-ride. I tend to be
minimalist, too. However, somewhere in the thread there was a discussion on
DMSO/furacin sweats for injury and someone said something about only leaving it
on for a brief time period...a few hours, I think. Anyhow, my very experienced
equine vet always recommends ice, then a DMSO/furacin sweat for a serious
injury and says to leave it on for 48 hours. So, I'm interested in hearing
more from the RC vets about this topic. Thanks. Cindy
