Re: [RC] Overall milage for horse - Jody Rogers-Buttram

If we ever start to count ALL miles as equal, (together as
mileage history for the horse), then we need to also do
away with the individual awards for LD vs. Endurance.  As
it stands now, endurance is 50+ miles, all lumped together for
awards, and LD as another group of awards.  The miles should
be kept separate as long as the awards(points) are kept separate.  I have
no problem putting them all together as long as the awards(points) are
are also added together.

I have always thought that LD miles should be added to
overall endurance miles if and after a horse reaches
the age of 18-20 or some agreed upon age. This might
encourage keeping a horse at the lower distance longer
knowing that these miles would be added later. Also
LD miles after the agreed age would also be added. I
think if I were to continue to ride, my horse might go
many more years.
