[RC] Rocky Mountain Challenge - 2008 Canadian Nationals - Cyndi Rowat

Rocky Mountain Challenge - 2008 Canadian Nationals
Featuring à Competitive TrailX Endurance X Ride N? Tie

The long-distance seasons are underway all across Canada and riders are
looking toward competing at the Rocky Mountain Challenge in Central Alberta
July 31 - August 4 for several reasons.

This event features entry-level competition, individual competition,
Canadian National Team competition and finally, international competition
including a World qualifier.

The host ranch, Red Deer River Ranches, is nestled in the foothills west of
Sundre and offers fabulous, challenging trail to escape from the monotony of
work and those same-old trails at home. Plus, to add to your Alberta
experience, it?s a working cattle ranch!

Alberta is privileged to field two teams in competitive trail as the host
province and fifteen horse and riders have nominated including Leanna
Marchant and Sampson?s Fire who were on the 2006 Silver Medal team in Quebec
and the 2007 Provincial Grand Champion Natasha French and her bay mare
Savannah. Along with some up-and-comers and seasoned competitors there is no
lack of talent with this year?s nominees.

The competitive trail ride season begins May long weekend and riders will be
pacing their horses to peak for the Nationals, all while trying to prove to
the selection committee and ride veterinarians that their horses are up for
the task of representing Alberta this summer. Endurance, competitive trail
and ride n? tie events will be taking place from now until the fall. Check
your local clubs for ride details.

If you haven?t nominated for the National team competition, there are still
plenty of individual spots in every division. Bring a horse and compete or
bring a friend and volunteer and just enjoy the experience.

Do you want to compete with or against the best? Are you are hoping to learn
how to become a top-level rider or just learn more about these three long
distance disciplines? Are you are a top-level rider and want to compete
against others from across Canada, the United States and other countries,
then you HAVE to COME to

The Rocky Mountain Challenge - 2008 Canadian Nationals
