Re: [RC] mountain lion attack - traps - Nancy Sturm

Traps creep me out because it is not a quick end.

Years ago, I was out riding and had my big labrador retriever got a foot caught in a trap. I hadn't the slighest idea how to release the trap and we were a long way from help. I would start to ride off for help and the dog would howl and I would return to him, start to ride off, he would howl, I would return. Finally, I just determined to go for help and as I disappeared down the hill, he managed to pull his foot out. Even though it's been over 40 years and it's now illegal to trap in Oregon, I have never returned to that trail.
