RE: [RC] biltmore loop description - Cindy Stafford

Thanks Angie!  Yes, I think that's what I must have found before.  But my googling this weekend hasn't brought it up again.  I tried angie mcghee, angie mcghee biltmore, and all kinds of variations.

Regarding J Teeter's response - yes, I had seen the biltmore page, thank you.  I was looking for angie's description.

My friend is hopeful to do her first biltmore this year with the 50 (I am crew and chief researcher lol).  Even if your description of the loops isn't accurate for this year's course, it will still help in giving a sense of what the terrain is like.

Thanks!

I gave a description of what the loops had been in the past in my "pre race coverage" when I did a webcast for Endurance.net, but when I got there they had rearranged them. That page is still out there and may give you some good general info. One of my students found it recently by googling Angie McGhee. They like to check up on what I've been doing. By the way, if you go to images and google Angie McGhee and see a black body builder...that's not me. :-) My students *did* ask if I was moonlighting on that one.

Are you doing the 100 or 50? The 100's get some easier loops that go nearer the big house. In general you usually do an easier loop towards the estate early, then through the middle of the ride go up and down the ridges, then the last 20 miles or so is two laps along the river and towards the estate. It's pretty well laid out to get you out of the deep woods when it's dark.

I know someone here can point me in the right direction.  I thought I had read, once upon a time, someone's (angie mcghee's?) description of the loops at Biltmore.  I've searched the archives and googled the web, but haven't found it yet.  Could also be I'm confusing it with a different ride (old D?).  Anyway, if someone knows what i'm talking about, can you let me know where to look?  thanks.
