Re: [RC] [RC] hi ties and loose horses - Raven

Can a horse lie down and sleep while tied to a hi-tie?

Oh yes...my Ice Pony loves his HiTie, It's amazing how much space they
get while tied to it.

tied to the trailer

A HiTie will give your horse...so much more room than being tied to the trailer.

I've tied to a picket line when trees were available, and to a
permanent tie-pole

Me too...but my HiTie sure comes in handy when these are not available
or I get to camp late and can't set up. I no longer use portable
corrals, as I do not trust them. Plus..my mini likes to escape. HAHA!

He was still attached to the lead rope. Didn't go anywhere!

Lucky you!

As for everyone else, I've seen loose horses running rampantly at
nearly every ride

Yes...I have too. And some were dragging the electric portable fencing
...wrapped around their legs. The worse was a few years ago....horse
got out of electric portable fencing...ran onto highway and got
killed. I will never forget that sound. How so very sad. Raven
