I think the only other difference is that, since corn oil is 100% fat, it has more of the "cheeseburger" effect that Susan G. was talking about, so you need to restrict intake before a ride. No need to do that with rice bran, especially if it is mixed up in a BP mash. I like that aspect, as it means that I don't have to change anything about my normal feeding program for a ride. Also, since Caisson isn't crazy about BP unless there are goodies in it, using rice bran works better for me -- the BP doesn't do him any good if he doesn't eat it. (I use pelleted rice bran which is Ca:P balanced).

The only difference (my understanding) between corn oil and something like rice bran is that rice bran has a high fat content, but corn oil is 100% fat, therefore has more cals.
