Re: [RC] Carbon Monoxide Poisoning - Sisu West Ranch

There are many RV parts outlets on the web. Simply Google RV parts.

The most common furnaces that have all the safety features etc. are the various models made by Atwood.

To see a representative sample go to http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2003217/p-2003217/N-111+600005392/c-10107

As far as batteries the operating words are "deep cycle". . Batteries are heavy. Your local Batteries Plus carries a selection. The most expensive, but longest lasting per Truman are the optima. go to: http://www.batteriesplus.com/c-86-marine-rv-batteries.aspx I have used sealed deep cycle from a discount store with good results (>4 year life), but Truman reports his don't last worth a dam. In the midwest lots of deep cycle are sold for use on trolling motors. The prices are attractive, and may be a good deal even if they don't last as long. In other areas golf cart batteries may be available cheap (I suspect lots are sold in Phoenix). Golf cart batteries are 6 V, so even numbers have to be used in series or series parallel to get 12 V.

I also found a FAQ page about batteries. It has lots of info. Like a lot of things in life, there are choices and tradeoffs. This info makes sense to me. http://www.windsun.com/Batteries/Battery_FAQ.htm#Starting,%20Marine,%20and%20Deep-Cycle%20Batteries
