Re: [RC] [RC] Garmin GPS Forerunner 305 Question - April

Hi, Paul,

I've used the Forerunner 305 since it came out and before that the Forerunner 301.

I use the Heart Rate monitor on my horse without issue. I use Roger Rittenhouse's chest transmitter adapter. It's not hard to put together and doesn't void the warranty of the transmitter. It works very well. http://www.vmaxept.com

I also bought an extra HR strap and use that on me when I'm exercising away from the horse.

I always wear the watch unit on my wrist. It works very well there and is easy to see while riding. If you don't like the regular watch band that comes with the 305, you can purchase a velcro strap like the 301s had.

I've been following the posts about GPS units and have a couple of questions about the Garmin Forerunner  305.  It comes with a heart  monitor. Has anybody used that monitor on their horse? How do you attach it?

Also does everybody wear it on their wrist, or do some of you mount it on the pommel?
