I showed my 17-year-old granddaughter the dressage video of the grey mare, and she says (about the tail wringing), "It's a mare thing. My endurance mare does the same thing."  Maybe she's right?

Have to jump in here:
 
  I have seen/and owned horses that will wring the tail when being cued.  Obviously, this horse is on the receiving end of many well executed cues.  That may be what is causing the tail action.  JMHO.
