[RC] "legs forward" - Kristi Schaaf

Just brainstorming...could it be that they can use
that position because they canter/gallop so much and
trot so little (if at all)? When I canter bareback, my
knees move up and my legs move forward to almost the
same position as theirs. But I don't think there's any
way you can post effortlessly in a saddle with your
feet up there, so it would NOT be an efficient
position for trotting (think of the excess
forward/back movement seen in saddle seat classes -
not the best way to post 50 or 100 miles).
